Public trails should remain public at all times, particularly if they are access to Hawaiian landmark sites, such is true on private lands even in our own subdivision. Former council members, Michelle Anderson, stated in a public meeting, that public access to Hawaiian archeological sites shall not be prohibited. Trails were established as such on private lands. I believe there are some archeological sites on the Haleakala trails. Haleakala itself is an archeological site.

I am concerned that private landowners get precedence over access to public trails.
